Yvonne Ortiz

Hello! My name is Yvonne Ortiz, and I’m a proud San Diego native. I’ve been happily married to my childhood sweetheart for 27 wonderful years, and together we’ve raised three amazing daughters. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in English from SDSU and am currently pursuing my Master’s in Education with a focus on Special Education.

I feel truly blessed to be a part of the GSDA community, which has not only provided me with an adventurous career path but also introduced me to incredible friends. It brings me so much joy to witness the growth of my students—not just academically, but personally. My greatest passion is making sure my students feel valued, seen, and heard, and I’m dedicated to supporting their growth in every way possible.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll likely find me laughing (I truly believe in the power of a good laugh), and snacking on my favorite treats—Doritos and donuts! Life is full of joy, and I love embracing every moment!
