Kimberly Thacker

My name is Kimberly Thacker. I was born in Indiana and raised in Illinois and Kentucky. I married an active-duty military man and continued to move around the country. Together we raised 4 kids while moving to Kansas, Kentucky, and Alaska. Due to moving so much, I decided to homeschool my children to provide them some stability. 13 years later, I am still homeschooling my youngest while my older three have all gone on to traditional high school. After my husband retired from the military, we bought an RV and traveled the USA while homeschooling. We visited 27 states before we settled in New Jersey. In New Jersey we owned a small business and farm. Between kids, moving, deployments, a business, and a farm to run,  I was able to finish my Bachelor's in History. I graduated with honors and earned the Arnold Fletcher award.

My husband changed careers in 2020 to a job located here in Jamul. Once again we packed up all our belongings and moved 2,700 miles! That is when I found GSDA. I began to homeschool my children through GSDA. In 2022, I began working at GSDA as a teacher. In 2023, I began working as an Educational Consultant. This past June I graduated from National University with a Master's in Education with an emphasis in Critical Thinking. I graduated with honors and also earned my California Multiple Subject Credential. I was also inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success.
