Kirsten Yuhl

I feel so fortunate to be the school psychologist for GSDA. This is my 29th year as a school

psychologist and I have had an unusual journey.

I graduated from Grossmont College in 1980 with an Associate of Arts in General Education,

attended the University of Arizona for a short time and then joined the Army. I graduated from

Basic Training as the Honor Trainee of the cycle, attended the Defense Language Institute in

Monterey to learn Russian and worked in Military Intelligence as a tactical interpreter. I attained

the rank of Sergeant and received an Honorable Discharge.

During my time in the Army, I attended the University of Maryland to study German and the

University of California, Santa Cruz to study Sociology. In 1991, I graduated from San Diego

State University with my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in African-American studies.

In 1996, I graduated from SDSU with honors with a Master of Science in Counseling and School

Psychology.
